SEATTLE -- Washington looks to put its experience at last week's National Team Indoor Championships to good use starting Sunday morning as Wisconsin comes in for a 9 a.m. dual at the Nordstrom Tennis Center. The Huskies (8-3) battled well against a trio of top-10 teams but now are looking to get back into the win column.
Wisconsin (5-4) should pose its own set of problems as the Badgers are coming off a big 5-2 road win at Oregon on Friday. The Badgers also had a close 4-3 loss to 29th-ranked Princeton. Against the Ducks, the Badgers won the 3-6 singles matches plus the doubles point. Tim Dzhurinskiy and Lenard Soha both have six dual singles wins apiece to lead Wisconsin.
The match is the final one at home for the Dawgs in a run of 12 dual matches to start the season. Next week UW will head out on the road, starting at Oregon, and the team will be gone for all of March, returning home to host UCLA on Apr. 1.
The Huskies saw some history earlier this week as junior Clement Chidekh achieved the No. 1 singles ranking from the ITA, becoming the first Husky ever to hold the top spot. Ewen Lumsden shot up to a career-high no. 66, and Chidekh and Nedim Suko are ranked in doubles for the first time at No. 36.
