Malone Earns Horizontal Bar Gold, Pair of Bronzes

COTTBUS, Germany - Senior Brody Malone captured gold on horizontal bar to accompany bronze medals on pommel horse and parallel bars from the 2022 Cottbus World Cup this past weekend.

Malone earned top honors on horizontal bar after registering a 14.700. Tin Srbic (14.333) of Croatia and Alexander Myakinin (14.100) of Israel followed in second and third, respectively.

Adding his second bronze medal of the weekend on Sunday, Malone scored a 14.466 on parallel bars to finish behind Ukraine's Illia Kovtun (14.966) and Australia's Mitchell Morgans at 14.733.

The reigning U.S. all-around champion, Malone had previously earned bronze on pommel horse on Saturday. Malone's 14.133 on horse was bested only by Filip Ude of Croatia (14.366) and World all-around bronze medalist Kovtun of Ukraine (14.166).

Malone also placed sixth in the still rings final, earning a 13.200. Turkey's Ibrahim Colak claimed gold on rings with a 14.733. Armenia's Vahagn Davtyan (14.600) and Great Britain's Courtney Tulloch (14.500) rounded out the top three.
