UCLA to Compete at Southern Highlands

LOS ANGELES – The UCLA men's golf team will compete at the Southern Highlands Collegiate Invitational hosted by the Southern Highlands Golf Club in La Vegas, Nev., from Sunday, Feb. 27 through Tuesday, March 1. The 54-hole stroke play event is par 72 with a course yardage of 7,510, and will tee off at 9 a.m. PT each day.

The Bruins' starting five is composed of graduate Eddy Lai, senior Bryan Teoh, and freshmen Evan Chien, Pablo Ereño Perez and Alvaro Mueller Baumgart Lucena. Teoh will be competing in his first event in the 2022 calendar year having last participated in the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate Invitational on Oct. 24.
Event History
USC was the tournament's last champion in 2020, shooting a 3-under 861. Texas' Parker Moody took home the individual crown with an 8-under, 208.
The Field
Joining the Bruins in the 15-team field are seven top-25 teams, including No. 2 Pepperdine, No. 3 Oklahoma, No. 9 Georgia, No. 15 Georgia Tech, No. 18 Texas, No. 19 Florida and No. 21 Illinois. New Mexico, Northwestern, San Diego, SMU, Southern California, TCU and course host UNLV will also be competing in the event.
Last Time Out
The UCLA men's golf team finished The Prestige hosted on the Greg Norman Course at PGA West 21st at 59-over, 911. Graduate Eddy Lai posted UCLA's best three-round score at 11-over, 224 following a 3-over, 74 in round three.
