Johnson Claims Pac-12 Freshman of the Week Honors

SAN FRANCISCO – Freshman Jenna Johnson has been named the Pac-12 Freshman of the Week, the conference announced on Monday. This is the third time she has claimed this honor this season.
 
The Utes have taken home eight freshmen of the week honors this season. This is the 22nd time in program history the Utes have claimed this award.
 
The Medina, Minn., native started the week off by scoring a team-high 12 points on 4-of-9 shooting against Oregon State. In the win over the Beavers, Johnson collected two rebounds and went 2-for-4 from deep. 
 
She shined against the Ducks on Saturday. Johnson scored a career-high 27 points, with 17 points coming in the third quarter on 7-of-7 shooting. She made a career-high ten field goals and collected four rebounds, and dished out three assists in the game. 
 
Over the two games, Johnson averaged 19.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 1.5 assists. She shot 53 percent from the floor on the week and did not commit a turnover. Johnson has scored in double-figures over the Utes' final three games of the season, including scoring 20 or more in two of the three.

Utah will match up with Cal in the first round of the Pac-12 Tournament. The tournament will be held at Michelob ULTRA Arena. Tip-off is set at 9:30 p.m. MT. The contest will be aired on the Pac-12 Network or turn on ESPN700 and hear Tyson Ewing and Milee Enger on the call.
