USC guard Drew Peterson was named the Pac-12 Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the week of Feb. 21-27, it was announced by the Conference today (Feb. 28). Peterson also won the Conference's Player of the Week award earlier this season for the week of Feb. 7-13.
Peterson helped lead the No. 16 Trojans to a pair of road wins in Oregon by averaging 21.5 points, 9.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists. He made 46.9 percent of his field goals, including 50 percent from three-point range. The 6-9 guard from Libertyville, Ill. also made 88.9 percent of his free throws for the week.
In the 94-91 double-overtime win at Oregon State on Feb. 24, Peterson scored 23 points and had 10 rebounds for his second double-double of the season. He was 8-for-8 from the free throw line, including hitting a pair from the foul line with 26 seconds remaining in the second overtime ot help cement away the win.
Peterson then hit a game-winning three-pointer to give USC a 70-69 victory at Oregon on Feb. 26. He finished with a game-high 20 points and eight rebounds in the win at Oregon.
