Cambere, Bradbury Named ASUN Players of the Week
ATLANTA, Ga. – For the second time this season, the Utah Lacrosse program has swept the weekly ASUN awards with Tyler Bradbury and Samuel Cambere earning offensive and defensive players of the week.
Bradbury secured his second offensive player of the week honor after also winning after his performance against Vermont while Cambere also notched his second recognition of the season, winning after Utah's season opener against Denver. Cambere was also named to the USILA DI Team of the Week this week.
Bradbury finished Utah's 12-11 win over Marquette with three points (2 goals, 1 assist), marking his third straight game with multiple goals. His one assist against the Golden Eagles also broke the school record for career assists, giving him 31 total.
He is currently tied for second in the ASUN in points per game (4.0) and is third in assists per game (2.0), also ranking in the top-30 nationally in assists per game. He also sits at No. 2 nationally in shot percentage (.667) while leading the conference in the category.
Cambere recorded two points (1 goal, 1 assist) against Marquette, also racking up season-highs in ground balls (7) and caused turnovers (4). He has had five-or-more ground balls in all three games this season and in seven straight, dating back to last season.
He ranks seventh in the nation in caused turnovers per game (2.67) and is leading the conference in ground balls per game (6.0). His seven ground balls against Marquette was also the most by an ASUN player this season while his four caused turnovers ranks second all-time in single-game caused turnovers at Utah.
The Utes are set to take on the Jacksonville Dolphins on Sunday, March 6 at 4 p.m. MT in Jacksonville, Fla. The game will be broadcast on CBS Sports Network.
