Lake, Fuenmayor Spotlight Men’s Golf's Play On Day Two In Vegas

HENDERSON, Nev. – Jackson Lake shot a 3-under 69 to lead the Oregon State men's golf team Tuesday as the Beavers played their second round of 18 holes at the par-72, 7,204 Reflection Bay Golf Club.
Oregon State is in sixth place after two days at the Lake Las Vegas Intercollegiate, hosted by Coastal Carolina. The Beavers, as a team, are at a 3-under 573. OSU posted a 3-under 285 on Tuesday after finishing at par on Monday.
Lake was a big mover in Tuesday's action, climbing to a tie for 15th at 2-under par over 36 holes. His 3-under 69 Tuesday moved him up 16 spots in the leaderboard after he entered the day tied at 31st. His round Tuesday included four birdies, and he now has 10 over two days.
That's one behind the OSU team leader, Mateo Fuenmayor, and Lake is one of 11 players to tally 10 or more thus far. Lake birdied 4 (par 4), 6 (par 5), 10 (par 4) and 14 (par 5) on Tuesday.
Speaking of Fuenmayor, he remains OSU's leader at 5-under over 36 holes. He shot a 1-under 71 Tuesday, including birdies at holes 4, 6, 11 (par 4), 14 and 18 (par 4).
Carson Barry gave OSU three golfers to finish under par Tuesday, posting a 2-under 70. Like Lake, he made a big move Tuesday after entering play in a tie for 74th. He stands at 4-over in his first 36 holes, collecting seven birdies, including three Tuesday.
Nolan Thoroughgood will enter the tournament's last 18 holes in a tie for 57th. He improved by one stroke Tuesday, posting a 3-under 75.
Brandon Eyre ended his second round of 18 with an 11-over par 83 and is tied for 67th entering Wednesday's action. He is at 10-over in his first 36 holes.
