SAN FRANCISCO – Junior Hannah Scharf is the Pac-12 Gymnast of the Week after earning career highs to help No. 15 Sun Devil Gymnastics take down previously undefeated Cal last weekend.
This is the third weekly award for the Gym Devils after Scharf and sophomore Emily White earned nods last week. It is the second-straight gymnast of the week honor for ASU after White got it last week. For Scharf, this is her second gymnast of the week nod and fourth weekly award of any kind of her career.
Scharf won the all-around with a career-high 39.575 for her third all-around title of the season. Currently on Road to Nationals, she is ranked No. 8 in the nation in the all-around. In the win over the Bears, she also had a career-high 9.950 on beam, the highest beam score by any Gym Devil this season, to give her that event title as well. Additionally, she matched her personal best on vault with a 9.900. This season, she has scored a 9.800 or better in all but three routines. She pushed the Sun Devils to their second-highest score of the season (197.075) and a season high vault score of 49.350.
