Ducks Make First Trip to North Carolina

Mar 2, 2022

Oregon visits the state of North Carolina for the first time in program history to play UNC Greensboro before competing in the Carolina Classic.

THIS WEEK
The Ducks kick off the week Thursday at UNC Greensboro before shifting to Chapel Hill for North Carolina's tournament. This will be the first meeting between the Ducks and UNC Greensboro. Oregon and Penn State last played in 2011, UConn in 2012 and the Tar Heels in 2015. Thursday's game at Greensboro and Saturday's game against the Tar Heels will be shown pn ESPN+.

NO DOUBT ABOUT IT
In Oregon's last outing, Jordan Dail and Raegan Breedlove threw a combined no-hitter (5-0) against Long Beach State at the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic.

A NOD TO THE DEFENSE
Oregon ranked third in the Pac-12 and 15th nationally in fielding percentage (.977) in 2021. After three weeks of play in 2022, the Ducks are fielding the ball at a .984 clip which leads the Pac-12 and ranks 10th nationally.

2-OUT LIGHTNING
Nearly half of Oregon's runs (37-of-86) have been scored after two outs in an inning.

CLOSING TIME
The Ducks have outscored the opposition 38-15 in the fifth, sixth and seventh innings.

CARLSON SHINES AT MNCC
