Mar 2, 2022

HENDERSON, Nev. – Jackson Lake had one of the best rounds in Oregon State men's golf history Wednesday at the Lake Las Vegas Intercollegiate, shooting a 7-under 65 to cap the three-day event.
Lake, who finished the event fourth with a 9-under 207, posted five birdies and an eagle in Wednesday's action. The 7-under par 65 tied for the fifth-best individual round in the program's history.
Lake is the first to finish at 7-under or better since Shawn Lu finished at 7-under 64 at the 2017 St. Mary's Invitational.
Additionally, Lake's 9-under for the tournament ties for the 17th-best overall performance by an OSU golfer
He earned his eagle at the par 5 sixth hole, and ended the trip with 16 birdies overall, ranking sixth in the 84-competitor field.
Overall, Oregon State, on the heels of a spectacular Wednesday performance, finished in a tie for third at 13-under par. The Beavers had their best day in Vegas on Wednesday, shooting a 10-under 278. OSU's five combined for 18 birdies and one eagle.

"I'm excited about the way our team battled back after a sluggish first round," head coach Jon Reehoorn said. "It was great to see Brandon (Eyre) bounce back in the fashion he did today as well.
"Jackson played some great golf this week. I'm excited about the progress he keeps making and what lies ahead for him.
"As a group, we've made good strides since Hawaii. It will be important to take the next few weeks before the Duck Invitational to focus on school, make sure we keep getting better every day and continue the progress toward the Pac-12 Championship."
Lake highlighted the Beavers' play, which saw four players shoot at or under par.
Brandon Eyre had his best round of the trip, posting a 3-under 69. He finished tied for 45th overall at 7-over 223.
Mateo Fuenmayor finished the tournament tied for 11th with a 5-under 211 and ended action by shooting at par on Wednesday. He opened play at a 4-under 68 Monday, followed by a 1-under 71 on Tuesday.  Fuenmayor tied for seventh with 14 birdies.
