Indianapolis, Ind. – The women's 4x400m relay squad from UCLA's track & field team has been selected to compete at the upcoming NCAA Indoor Championships in Birmingham, Ala (March 11-12). The team ranked among the top 12 relay squads in the country to earn its bid to the National Meet.
The quartet of Catherine Leger, Makenzy Pierre-Webster, Kate Jendrezak, and Shae Anderson combined to run 3:32.55 at the Pac-12 Invitational this past Saturday, good for a bid the NCAA Indoors and the second-fastest time in program indoor history. The team finished second overall in the race and just missed the indoor school record of 3:30.28, set at the MPSF Championships in Feb. 2019.
This is the third-straight year the Bruin women have qualified their 4x400m relay squad to the NCAA Indoor Championships. UCLA earned a 10th-place finish in 2021 while the 2020 competition was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Notably, Leger, Pierre-Webster, and Anderson all ran legs on the 2021 relay at Nationals.
The women's 4x400m relay event will take place at 8:20 p.m. CT / 6:20 p.m. PT on Saturday, March 11 in Birmingham.
