The Ducks head into this weekend's matches with seven straight wins, going 5-0 on their recent homestand after winning a pair of matches in Denver against Wisconsin and Denver. The doubles point has been the key for Oregon throughout the early season, as the Ducks have won the opening point in all eight of their wins while dropping doubles in each of the two losses.
Ares Teixido Garcia has led Oregon in singles play during the dual season, currently 9-0 in the spring and 14-1 overall on the year in singles. Sophie Luescher is 13-5 on the year and 6-3 in dual matches playing at the No. 1 spot. A pair of other Ducks have turned in strong play in singles, as Myah Petchey is 13-4 on the season followed by Uxia Martinez Moral at 10-4, while freshman Karin Young has gone 7-1 after joining the team in January. Oregon has also mixed and matched in doubles play all year, using 10 different doubles combinations in the dual season led by Misaki Kobayashi and Teixido Garcia and Young and Allison Mulville who are both 3-0.
Following this weekend's matches, Oregon will have a weekend off before continuing Pac-12 play against Arizona (March 18, 2:30 p.m.) and Arizona State (March 20, 11 a.m.).
