Faraimo Perfect in 12-0 Win Versus Fresno State

FULLERTON, Calif. – Megan Faraimo was perfect in No. 5 UCLA softball's 12-0 mercy-rule victory over Fresno State on day one of the Judi Garman Classic on Thursday.

The Bruins' (14-3) lineup recorded their 12 runs on seven walks and nine hits, including a a two-run homer by utility Maya Brady in the fourth inning that was launched to opposite field for her fourth longball of the season. All but one member of the Bulldogs' (1-13) lineup struck out at least once in the contest.
 
Faraimo racked up 12 strikeouts amongst the 15 batters she faced on the way to tossing the second perfect game of her career and 19th in program history. Faraimo's first perfect game came on Feb. 24, 2021 versus San Diego State.
 
Faraimo struck out the first six batters she faced to open the game as well as struck out the side in the fourth inning. Infielder Thessa Malau'ulu saved Faraimo's masterpiece with a diving stop to her left at third base and a bullet throw across the diamond for the game's final out. Faraimo now has 30 strikeouts in her last 13 innings of work.
 
Faraimo also recorded an infield single in the contest.
 
Offensively, the Bruins utilized three walks, three stolen bases, two singles and two RBI putouts to put up a four spot in the bottom of the first inning. UCLA scored three more times before the fourth inning when Brady went deep and Lexi Sosa and Lauryn Carter both recorded RBI singles in the fourth to score the Bruins' last two runs of the game.
