USC Women's Soccer Opens Spring Exhibition Schedule This Weekend
LOS ANGELES – The USC women's soccer team will get its first taste of action under Head Coach Jane Alukonis when it opens its spring exhibition schedule this weekend at CSU Bakersfield.
The Trojans will play four collegiate exhibitions this spring, with USC also heading to UC Irvine (April 3), Cal State LA (April 9) and UCLA (April 10). See the full schedule below.
Alukonis became the fifth head coach in USC women's soccer history when she was hired back on Jan. 20 of this year. She replaced Keidane McAlpine, who left to take the head job at Georgia. Alukonis was joined on staff by USC soccer legend Amy Rodriguez, who was hired as an assistant coach after an extensive professional career in the NWSL and with the USWNT.
The Trojans return the bulk of a veteran roster from last season, including USC's all-time leading scorer and two-time reigning Pac-12 Forward of the Year Penelope Hocking, and defending Pac-12 Midfielder of the Year Croix Bethune. Bethune was also a first-team All-American in 2021. The Trojans made their eighth straight NCAA Tournament appearance this past fall, falling in the second round to Penn State.
