Knight Leads A Trojan Sweep Of The Men's Hammer Throw At The Beach Opener

Trey Knight won the men's hammer throw competition and led the Trojans to a 1-2-3 sweep of the event during the first day of the Beach Opener held on Jack Rose Stadium in Long Beach, Calif. today (March 4).

  • Knight led a 1-2-3 sweep in the men's hammer throw winning the title with a PR of 227-7 (69.37m).  His mark bettered his 9th place standing on USC's all-time list.  Nikolaos Polychroniou placed second with a throw of 212-3 (64.69m).  Christian Johnson took third place with a PR of 211-11 (64.59m). 
  • Joy McArthur took fourth in the women's hammer throw with a mark of 204.8 (62.40m) and Summer Mosley placed sixth with a mark of 175-0 (53.35m).
  • Dylan Lange placed 12th in the men's javelin throw with a personal-best throw of 155-11 (47.55m).
  • Annabel Doherty took 14th in the women's javelin throw with a mark of 119-6 (36.44m). It was her first official meet as a Trojan.
