USC Baseball Posts Season-High 18 Hits in 11-3 Win Over Wagner

LOS ANGELES – The USC baseball team puts up season highs in hits and runs on Friday night, beating Wagner 11-3 in the series opener at Dedeaux Field.
 
USC's 18 hits marked five straight games that the team has had double-digit hit totals as the Trojans move to 7-2 on the year. Wagner falls to 1-6 on the season. USC has won five straight.
 
The Trojans jumped on top with two runs in the first inning and never looked back, also scoring four in the third and three in the fourth. Wagner's put up two runs in the top of the fourth and then added a run in the ninth.
 
Trevor Halsema led the hit parade for USC, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored. Tyler Lozano hit a two-run homer in the fourth and was 2-for-4 at the plate. Tyresse Turner had a pair of doubles in the game and Garret Guillemette was 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run.
 
Jaden Agassi picked up his first win of the season, tossing 6.0 strong innings in the start. Agassi gave up just the two runs in the fourth, but other than that scattered four hits and two walks, while striking out four. Jason Starrels tossed 2.0 scoreless relief innings.
