BERKELEY – California track & field hosted their first home meet of the season on Saturday at Edwards Stadium, welcoming athletes from San Jose State and San Francisco to a competition primarily aimed toward measuring the depth of the Bears' team and allowing many individuals to make their season or Golden Bear debuts. In the end, Cal put on a show and then some, with the Bears accruing a total of 14 event wins and 3 debuts on the program's all-time Top 10 lists.

Arguably the most impressive mark of the day was set by junior Jasmine Blair, who dominated the women's discus throw with a massive personal record of 56.67m (185-11) and shot all the way up to second-best in program history. Freshman Amelia Flynt, making her debut for Cal, competed in three throwing events but shone most in the shot put, where her second-place heave of 16.08m (52-9.25) put her at fifth in school history. On the men's side, sophomore Justin Wirtz took home the win with PRs in both of the aforementioned events, throwing the discus 49.38m (162-0) and the shot put 16.58m (54-4.75).

The Bears also impressed on the track, with the tandem of Jenea Spinks, Ezinne Abba, Maisie Stevens and Aysha Shaheed combining for a 4x100m relay time of 44.98 – 10th-fastest in Cal history.  Senior Marea Zlatunich won the women's 1500m run with a time of 4:36.76, while classmate Xavier Court raced to a personal-best 3:58.10 for a win of his own; he was followed closely in that event by sophomore Carrick Denker and his second-place 3:59.38. Cal's men also went 1-2 in the 100m dash, with sophomore Samir Thota posting a time of 10.84 and transfer senior Ethan Song finishing just behind at 10.88, a personal best.
