Gym Devils Win Share Of Pac-12 Regular Season Title
TEMPE, Ariz. – For the first time ever, Sun Devil Gymnastics has won a share of the 2022 Pac-12 Regular Season Championship after earning five conference wins, the most in a season since 2001.
"Words cannot describe how incredibly proud Jay and I are of this team," Arizona State Co-Head Coach Jessica Santos said. "This program has been building and improving every single year that we have been here, and the title is a reflection of all of the hard work that our team and staff have put in this year. We would like to thank every single athlete, coach, and our support staff that have helped along the way. This team has made Sun Devil Nation proud, earning its first ever Pac-12 championship title. O2V!"
No. 15 Arizona State (5-3, 5-2 Pac-12) is a regular season co-champion alongside Cal, Oregon State and Utah. The Bears had a chance to clinch sole possession of the title against the UCLA Bruins on Sunday afternoon, however Cal placed second to force the four-way tie for the championship. This is the third season the Pac-12 has crowned a regular season champion, beginning the tradition in 2020.

The Gym Devils have had a stellar conference season. It began with a home opening-win over Washington before another road win at Arizona. That close win over the Wildcats gave the Sun Devils their sixth-straight dual meet win over their rivals. In back-to-back home meets, ASU earned its first win over UCLA since 2001, as well as upsetting Cal to give the Bears their first loss of the season. The fifth and final win of the conference season came on Sunday at Stanford.
It has been another historic season for Arizona State. Currently, the team has three-straight team scores of 197-plus, including a 197.800 that was good for the seventh-best score in program history. They will close out the regular season this Friday at home, hosting No. 1 Oklahoma and No. 21 Boise State.
