Utah Gymnastics Earns Share of 2022 Pac-12 Regular Season Championship
SALT LAKE CITY – Following the completion of the Pac-12 regular season on Sunday afternoon, the Utah gymnastics team earned a share of the 2022 Pac-12 Regular Season Championship. With the conference in its third year of awarding a regular season championship, Utah has now won the regular season outright or at least a share in all three seasons it has been in effect.
Utah, California, Oregon State and Arizona State finished the regular season in a four-way tie for first place after the Pac-12 teams all posted a 5-2 record in Pac-12 play. There are no tiebreakers to determine a Pac-12 regular season champion.
The Pac-12 title becomes Utah's seventh conference title overall since joining the Pac-12. The three-straight regular season championships add to the titles collected at the 2014, 2015, 2017 and 2021 Pac-12 Championships. Over the past three years, Utah has posted a conference record of 25-2 during the regular season and at the conference championships.
The fourth-ranked Utah gymnasts will close out the regular season this Friday, March 11 at No. 5 LSU. Utah and LSU will compete at 6:30 p.m. MT at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center in Baton Rouge, La. Then, Utah will turn its attention to the 2022 Pac-12 Championships on Saturday, March 19, at the Maverik Center in West Valley City, Utah. Tickets can be purchased here.
