USC's Lucas Frassrand, Chris Hall Named MPSF Men's Volleyball Players Of The Week
LOS ANGELES—Two Trojan men's volleyball players were honored with conference awards after their outstanding performances in USC's two victories over BYU last week. Middle blocker Lucas Frassrand was named the MPSF Offensive Player of the Week while setter Chris Hall was named the MPSF Defensive Player of the Week.
Hall was also named the Off the Block National Setter of the Week.
This is the first MPSF Player of the Week honor for both Frassrand and Hall.
USC now has five players who have earned weekly conference honors in the 2022 season.
Frassrand led the Trojans in hitting percentage in both matches against the Cougars last weekend. He hit .727 against BYU with 9 kills in USC's 3-1 victory on Mar. 4 while collecting 11.5 points for Troy. Additionally, he collected 5 blocks, 3 digs and 1 assist.
In USC's 3-0 sweep over the Cougars on Mar. 5, Frassrand had 10 kills on 14 attempts with no errors, hitting .714. He also recorded 3 blocks, 1 dig and 1 assist, tallying 11.5 points for the Trojans.
Setter Chris Hall has been leading the Trojan offense, but had a strong defensive performance this last weekend. Hall tallied 19 digs between the two matches (10 on Mar. 4 and 9 on Mar. 5). He also recorded 5 blocks (1 solo and 4 assists).
Offensively, Hall tallied 44 assists on Mar. 4 helping the Trojans to hit .327 against BYU. The next night on Mar. 5, he collected 33 assists leading the USC offense to a .523 hitting percentage.
