Jaquez Jr. Selected UCLA Student-Athlete of the Week

LOS ANGELES – Junior Jaime Jaquez Jr. of the men's basketball team has been selected the UCLA Student-Athlete of the Week, presented by Ready, for March 1 – March 7.
 
Jaquez Jr. averaged 28.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists in the Bruins' two wins last week.
 
He scored a career-high 30 points and finished with nine rebounds in UCLA's 77-66 victory at Washington on Monday, Feb. 28. He connected on 11 of 17 shots in the win at Washington. Five nights later, Jaquez Jr. totaled 27 points, six rebounds and four assists to lift the Bruins past USC, 75-68, in the final regular-season game for both schools.
 
Jaquez Jr. has averaged 13.3 points and 5.5 rebounds in 28 games for UCLA this season.
 
This is Jaquez Jr.'s fifth-career athlete of the week award and second of the season. He won the award back in December after a 24-point, 12-rebound double-double in the Bruins' win against Marquette on Dec. 11.
