Washington Run Rules Robert Morris in 2022 Home Opener

SEATTLE – The No. 7 Washington Huskies run-ruled Robert Morris 11-0 (5) in the 2022 home opener Tuesday night.
 
Eight different Huskies scored runs, starting in the first inning with an Olivia Johnson double that scored Sami Reynolds. Johnson (double), Kinsey Fiedler (home run), Angie Yellen (triple) and Baylee Klingler (triple) all recorded extra-base hits in the contest. Brooke Nelson earned the win in the circle, pitching a complete-game shutout and striking out a season-high six Colonials.

1st: Olivia Johnson doubled to left field and scored Sami Reynolds.
 
2nd: Kinsey Fiedler hit her first home run in Husky Softball Stadium (2 RBI).
 
3rd: Brooke Nelson singled down the right-field line, scoring Madi Huskey and Baylee Klingler.
3rd: Angie Yellen tripled to right center (2 RBI).
 
4th: Baylee Klingler tripled to right field, scoring Sami Reynolds.
4th: Huskey grounded out to second, but scored Klingler.
4th: Sarah Willis singled to right field, and was just inches short of a home run (1 RBI).
4th: SilentRain Espinoza scored on a throwing error.

Olivia Johnson hit her first career double.
 
Kinsey Fiedler hit her first home run in her first at-bat in Husky Softball Stadium. She now has three home runs on the season, with her last coming on 2/12/22 against Arkansas.
 
Angie Yellen hit her first career triple. Yellen is now 3-for-6 on the year with a hit in each of the last three games.
 
Baylee Klingler hit her second triple of the 2022 season, and of her career. The senior went 2-for-3 with one RBI.
 
Brooke Nelson pitched the first complete game and first shutout of her career. She matched a career-high with six strikeouts.
