18 Bears Earn NCAA Invites

Destin Lasco is one of six Golden Bears who earned three invitations for the 2022 NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships.

BERKELEY – A total of 18 Golden Bears have earned invitations to the 2022 NCAA Men's Swimming & Diving Championships in Atlanta on March 23-26. California's 18 invitees, listed below, combined for 36 individual events. Cal is also eligible for all five relay events at the NCAA Championships.
 

  • Jack Alexy – 100 free
  • Liam Bell – 100 breast
  • Daniel Carr – 100 back, 200 back
  • Hugo González – 200 IM, 400 IM, 200 breast
  • Sean Grieshop – 500 free, 400 IM
  • Robin Hanson – 200 free
  • Dylan Hawk – 100 free
  • Gabriel Jett – 200 free, 500 free, 200 fly
  • Trenton Julian – 200 IM, 200 free, 200 fly
  • Tyler Kopp – 400 IM
  • Destin Lasco – 200 IM, 100 back, 200 back
  • Jason Louser – 200 IM, 400 IM, 200 breast
  • Bryce Mefford – 100 back, 200 back
  • Colby Mefford – 200 back
  • Dare Rose – 100 fly, 200 fly
  • Björn Seeliger – 50 free, 100 free, 100 back
  • Sebastian Somerset – 100 back, 200 back
  • Reece Whitley – 100 breast, 200 breast

 
The Bears are fresh off of winning their fifth consecutive Pac-12 Championship where they rallied from a substantial mid-meet deficit to post a 93.5-point victory in Federal Way. Cal has won four NCAA team titles, most recently in 2019, and has finished first or second 11 consecutive times at the championship meet.
