Sun Devil Baseball Announces Schedule Changes For Weekend Series
PHOENIX – There will be no shortage of baseball in the Valley of the Sun this weekend as Sun Devil Baseball and the San Francisco Dons will welcome the Missouri Tigers to Phoenix Municipal Stadium to join both teams in a jam-packed series over the next three days.
Due to forecasted inclement weather and below-freezing temperatures in Columbia, Mo., over the next couple of days, the three teams reached an agreement that would allow the Tigers to come to sunny Arizona and get a pair of games in rather than lose a weekend of action.
The Sun Devils and the Dons will still play a three-game series, and both teams will still play four games over the weekend – the caveat being that the fourth game will now be against the Tigers for both teams. As a result, the schedule of games for the weekend will now feature doubleheaders on Saturday and Sunday. San Francisco will play its doubleheader on Saturday and ASU will now play a doubleheader on Sunday.
The updated schedule for the weekend is as follows:
Friday, March 11
6:30 p.m. AZT – Arizona State vs. San Francisco
Saturday, March 12
1 p.m. AZT – San Francisco vs. Missouri
6 p.m. AZT – Arizona State vs. San Francisco
Sunday, March 13
12 p.m. AZT – Arizona State vs. San Francisco
TBD – Arizona State vs. Missouri
Arizona State's contest against the Tigers will get underway shortly after the conclusion of the tilt against the Dons, much like a typical doubleheader.
It was already shaping up to be a packed weekend at Phoenix Municipal stadium as Friday's tilt against USF is approaching a sellout. Additionally, there have been over 4,000 tickets sold for Saturday's games.
Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets sooner than later with the remaining tickets available becoming much more limited.
Fans who originally purchased a ticket for Saturday's doubleheader between ASU and USF will still have the doubleheader honored and can attend both games.
Additionally, fans who purchased tickets for the original Sunday afternoon tilt between ASU and USF will have that ticket honored for both games of ASU's now-scheduled doubleheader.
