The only matchup between the two programs resulted in a win for the Bears on their turf. The Wildcats aim to even out the series score and claim their first win over the top five team, this time in Cat country.

This Time Last Year - The first match between Arizona and Baylor saw the Bears clinch the doubles point and take four of the singles points. Gustaf Strom and Nick Lagaev were the only Wildcats to put points on the board for Arizona. At the time of last spring's match, Arizona was ranked No. 15 and Baylor at No. 3. The two teams sit in similar standings this season. 

Wildcats vs. Bears - The highly anticipated match includes more rankings than just the teams. Both teams have three players who ranked in the ITA top 125 singles. Representing Arizona is No. 36 Colton Smith, No. 74 Herman Hoeyeraal and No. 80 Jonas Ziverts. And for Baylor it's No. 27 Matias Soto, No. 41 Sven Lah and No. 42 Adrian Boitan. The Bears have two doubles pairs that ranked in the ITA top 80: No. 18 Jake Finn Bass and Lah, and No. 80 Juan Pablo Grassi Mazzuchi and Soto. Carlos Hassey and Smith sit at the No. 72 spot in the ITA doubles ranks.  

Looking Ahead - After their two Big 12 matches, Arizona heads to Los Angeles for their first two conference matches against No. 46 UCLA on Friday, March 18 and No. 9 USC on Sunday, March 20. Then the Wildcats are back at home for the state showdown against Arizona State on Saturday, March 26.
