Jeon Leads Bears At Northrop Grumman Challenge

PALOS VERDES ESTATES – Senior Eun Soo Jeon shot a 3-over par 74 on Sunday to lead the Cal women's golf team after the first round of the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge at Palos Verdes Golf Club.

Jeon was the top finisher for the Bears, who are in a tie for 14th place heading into Tuesday's second round on the 6,017-yard, par-71 course.

The 16-team field features 10 squads currently ranked in the Golfstat top-25, including four in the top-10.

No team finished the first round under par, with Kent State leading the tournament at 2-over par. The Bears are tied with No. 19 Baylor at 20-over par as a team.

Cal begins the second round Monday at 10 a.m. PT.
