#22 Sun Devil Softball Hosts Marist on Tuesday Night

TEMPE, Ariz– No. 22 Arizona State Softball returns to Farrington Stadium for one last non-conference matchup against Marist College on Tuesday, March 14 at 6:00 p.m.
The Sun Devils are currently on a seven-game winning streak after sweeping through the Sun Devil Classic. They defeated New Mexico State twice, Rutgers, BYU and Ball State, while defeating Seattle and Texas A&M in the Judi Garman Classic on March 6.
At the Sun Devil Classic last weekend, the Sun Devils only allowed three runs through five games, which included three shutouts, three run-rule wins - one over BYU, and two over New Mexico State.
Senior Yannira Acuña hit five home runs which leads the team with eight on the season. ASU have outscored its opponents 52-4 during its seven-game winning streak going into Tuesday's matchup against Marist.
The circle is strong for the Sun Devils as freshman Mac Morgan got her team leading eighth and ninth wins of the season with shutouts over BYU and N.M. State. Senior Marissa Schuld got two more wins this weekend over Ball State and N.M. State, one featuring a five-inning run-rule shutout. Schuld leads the team in strikeouts with 55 on the season. Junior Lindsay Lopez pitched a complete game over Rutgers with seven strikeouts. Lopez earned her third win of the season with a team-leading 0.85 ERA.
The bats also remained hot during the Sun Devil Classic as they were able to notch 10 hits in four out of the five games. ASU once again was able to hit the long ball with a four home run game over Rutgers on Saturday afternoon. Yanni Acuña and freshman Cydney Sanders lead the team in batting average with Acuña hitting .483 with Sanders batting .464 on the season with seven home runs.
