Pac-12 Tennis Players of The Week - March 15, 2022

MEN’S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Yuta Kikuchi, Sr., CALIFORNIA (Yahaba, Japan) 

• For the second consecutive match, No. 91-ranked Yuta Kikuchi clinched a Golden Bear victory, as No. 43 California upset No. 22 Utah, 5-2, in the Bears' Pac-12 Conference opener. 
• Playing at the No. 1 singles position, he also clinched Californa’s 5-2 home win over Santa Clara on Friday. 
• Against Santa Clara, the Golden Bear senior beat Arthur Neuhaus, 6-4, 6-1, on court one in singles. 
• On Sunday, Kikuchi rebounded from a first-set loss to defeat Franco Capalbo, 4-6, 7-5, 6-1, on court one.

WOMEN’S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Eryn Cayetano, Jr., USC (Long Beach, Calif.)

• Playing at the No. 2 singles position, sixth-ranked Cayetano contributed three individual victories for the No. 20-ranked Trojans, helping to defeat Arizona State (4-1), Arizona (4-0) and Hawaii Pacific (4-0) in less than 48 hours. 
• Playing at No. 1 doubles against Arizona State’s 56th-ranked Patricija Spaka and Domenika Turkovic, 49th-ranked Eryn Cayetano and Grace Piper scooped up a 6-2 win on center court to help the Trojans to a 4-1 win over ASU. 
• Claimed the doubles point against Arizona partnered with Daniella Willson, as they defeated Wildcats duo of Midori Castillo-Meza and Kayla Wilkins.
• Clinched the match for USC against Arizona, defeating Lexi Ryngler 6-1, 2-6, 6-3.
