GymDawgs Head To Utah For Pac-12 Championships

Mar 17, 2022

SEATTLE, Wash.—The Washington gymnastics team is on the road this weekend in West Valley City, Utah for the Pac-12 Championships. The Huskies will compete in the first session, starting at 12:00 p.m. PT.

The Dawgs will be joined by UCLA, Stanford, and Arizona in the first session. Following the first session, Utah, Oregon State, Cal, and Arizona State will compete, starting at 5:00 p.m. PT.

The GymDawgs come into the Pac-12 Championships as the 6th seed. Washington will look to continue their growth and success they have had so far this season by staying consistent and performing like they do in practice.

Earlier this season, the Huskies beat Arizona at home with a score of 196.250. The GymDawgs have also faced Stanford two times this season, both in tri-meets, and have came out on top both times. When the two teams first met at the Metroplex Challenge in Fort Worth, Texas, Washington posted a 196.825. Then the Dawgs hosted Stanford with Utah State and won with a 196.875.

The Huskies will continue to rely on the consistent senior, Amara Cunningham on vault and floor. Geneva Thompson will provide depth on vault, bars, and floor. Skylar Killough-Wilhelm, the sole all-around competitor for Washington, will also be a big contributor on all events, as she has been all season.
