Utah Track & Field Opens Outdoor Season at Trojan Invitational Saturday

SALT LAKE CITY – Fresh off a successful indoor season, the Utah track & field team now turns its attention to the Trojan Invitational where it'll kick open the outdoor season this Saturday, March 19.

OFF THE BLOCKS
To kick off the outdoor season, the Women of Utah will send 19 competitors to Los Angeles to compete at Cromwell Field & Loker Track. Joining the Utes at the Trojan Invitational will be BYU, Cal State Fullerton, Long Beach State and USC.
 
Like the indoor season, Keelah Barger, Simone Plourde, Maddie Reed and Megan Rose will be making their outdoor debut in the red and white.
 
HEALTH & SAFTEY
All attendees must complete Trojan Check the day of the event to enter campus. At this time, USC requires all campus visitors to present proof of COVID-19 vaccination or a negative test upon entry. Masks are not required on campus at this time.
 
INDOOR WRAP UP
Similar to the cross country season, Utah's indoor season also saw a lot of success and records broken. In total, the Women of Utah broke, improved or entered into the all-time record books for the first this past season. Additionally, newcomer Josefine Eriksen also broke the Norwegian indoor record in the 600m at the Don Kirby Invitational.
 
UP NEXT
Utah will have some extra time to prepare for its next meet, which will be on Friday, April 1, at the West Coast Relays hosted by Fresno State at Veteran's Memorial Coliseum.
