Wildcats Defeat Ducks 4-2

Eugene, Ore. - No. 50 Arizona won its second Pac-12 conference match 4-2 against No. 53 Oregon. The win for the Wildcats breaks the series tiebreaker between the two progams with the Cats ahead 13-12. 

The Cats started off strong by taking the doubles point. Midori Castillo and Belen Nevenhoven clinched the doubles point with a 7-5 win against Lillian Mould and Karin Young. Kirsten Prelle and Salma Ziouti finished first 6-3 against Myah Petchey and Allison Mulville. 

After losing the first two singles points, Arizona took the four remaining singles points to solidify their second Pac-12 conference match. Kayla Wilkins snagged the first singles point for the Cats after battling Mould to three sets 1-6, 6-1, 6-1. 

The rest of the Cats took their points in two sets. Castillo defeated Uxia Martinez Moral 6-3, 7-5, and Prelle won 7-5, 7-6(7-5) against Mulville. 

The Wildcats are back in Tempe, Arizona next Friday, March 25 for a match against No. 47 Rice University. Then they host two home matches against No. 24 Stanford on Friday, April 1 and No. 14 California on Saturday, April 2.
