Golf Returns to Oregon for the Duck Invitational

The Utah Men's golf team will once again travel to Oregon after just competing in the Bandon Dunes Championship on March 6-8. This time the Utes head to Eugene, Ore. to compete in the Duck Invitational March 21-22. The two-day tournament hosted by the University of Oregon, will run Monday- Tuesday and take place at the Eugene Country Club. This will be Utah's first time competing in the Duck Invitational since 2017 where the Utes finished in third place out a 15-team field. Utah last competed at the Eugene Country Club in 2019 at the Pac-12 championship where the team placed fifth.
The Utes will compete in field of 14 team that includes Idaho, Seattle U, Washington, San Jose State, Arizona State, Boise State, Cal Poly, Grand Canyon, Loyola Marymount, Pacific, Santa Clara, Oregon State and Oregon.
The Utes' five-man lineup will remain the same with seniors Tristan Mandur and Blake Tomlinson, sophomore Javier Barcos, redshirt freshmen Martín León and true freshmen Braxton Watts. True freshmen Zach Neff will once again compete as an individual.

"It has been a while since we have been at Eugene Country Club. It is a world class golf course and will present a real test for our team. Blake and Tristan have played here in the Pac-12 championship in 2019 and the rest of our team will play here for the first time. The field has several strong teams, and we are excited to compete and hope to be in the mix on Tuesday."
The Duck Invitational is a two-day tournament consisting of 54 holes with 36 being played the first day and 18 on the second and final day. The event will take place at the Eugene Country Club with teams teeing off both days at 9:30 a.m. MT with a shotgun start format.
LAST TIME OUT
The Utes competed in the Bandon Dunes championship two weeks ago where the team placed fourth out a 15-team field, shooting 21-over (873). Tomlinson and Barcos led the way for Utah both tying for 11th after shooting 4-over (217). Watts shot 6-over (219) to tie for 21st while Leon tied for 30th with a score of 8-over (221). Rounding out the team was Mandur who shot 13-over (226) and Neff who shot 22-over (235).
