Ducks Rally Comes Up Short at Tulsa

TULSA, Okla. – Oregon men's tennis fell just short to Tulsa today by a score of 4-3.
 
How it Happened: Oregon started strong and got out to a 1-0 lead after securing the doubles point. The Ducks pair of Charlton and Q. Vandecasteele won 6-2, while Keremedchiev and Kadiri came out on top 6-4.
 
No. 30 ranked Tulsa quickly made-up ground in singles, taking matches four, five and six in a hurry, leaving Oregon with an uphill climb. Q. Vandecasteele got the second point for Oregon after his opponent retired in the second set. With the Ducks down 3-2, Keremedchiev came up huge with a 7-6 (5), 6-1 victory on court three.
 
The match came down to Oregon's Charlton vs. No. 43 ranked Kody Pearson. Charlton won the first set 6-3, but dropped the second by the same score, leaving the contest to be decided in the third. Pearson got out to a 3-0 lead before Charlton tied it up at 3-3. Pearson answered with a similar run to take the decisive match 3-6, 6-3, 6-4.
