SEATTLE -- Spring break takes the Husky men's tennis team to Vegas, but it's a business trip for the Dawgs as they have two mid-week matches to set them up for the return to Pac-12 match play this weekend. The 40th-ranked Dawgs will first take on UNLV at the Fertitta Tennis Complex on Tuesday, Mar. 22, at 1 p.m. Then on Thursday the Huskies remain at UNLV's home site for a match-up with Northern Arizona at 10 a.m. Pacific. From there UW travels to Salt Lake City and a big battle with 27th-ranked Utah on Sunday, Mar. 27, at 11 a.m.

Tuesday and Thursday's matches are the final non-conference matches of the season for the Huskies, except for a home match with Oregon on Apr. 6 which will not count towards the Pac-12 standings, as the teams already played their counting match, a 4-2 win for the Dawgs. Washington (11-4, 1-0 Pac-12) was off last week for finals.

UNLV (8-7) has also been off for nine days since it last played, a 4-3 win over Seattle U. The Rebels had a 1-6 loss to Arizona and an 0-7 loss to Cal in two previous Pac-12 match-ups. Christopher Bulus is ranked 76th as of the March 9 ITA computer rankings. He has gone 9-4 at the No. 1 singles spot. The doubles duo of Zac Brodney and Milos Dabic has had success, going 9-4 in dual play.

Northern Arizona is 14-5 on the season and has been ranked in the top-75 of the ITA team rankings in previous polls, though is currently unranked. Maciej Ziomber is 14-3 in dual play at the three, four, and five spots. Eban Straker-Meads is 3-5 at No. 1 singles and 7-0 at No. 2.

Utah is currently 16-4 on the season with a No. 27 national ranking. The Utes started 16-0 before losing their past four matches, but all to ranked opponents. Utah had a 4-0 loss at Stanford and a 5-2 loss at Cal in its first two Pac-12 matches on Mar. 11 and 13, respectively. Earlier in the season, Utah had a 4-0 win over Texas Tech, currently ranked 41st, and also has wins over No. 50 UCSB, No. 52 Gonzaga, No. 58 Boise State, and No. 64 Denver. Geronimo Busleiman is ranked No. 118 in singles while Franco Capalbo has gone 14-3 at No. 1 singles for the Utes. Capalbo and Busleiman are 16-1 in dual doubles matches.
