Campbell Selected UCLA Student-Athlete of the Week
LOS ANGELES – Redshirt junior Tyger Campbell of the men's basketball team has been selected the UCLA Student-Athlete of the Week, presented by Ready, for March 15 – March 21.
Campbell averaged 16.0 points, 4.5 assists and 2.0 rebounds in the Bruins' two NCAA Tournament wins last week. Campbell shot 50.0 percent from the field and 42.9 percent from 3-point distance. He made all nine free throw attempts, through both games.
Campbell scored 16 points and had five assists in the Bruins' 57-53 win over Akron last Thursday. He scored eight consecutive points late in the second half to help UCLA overcome a seven-point deficit with under six minutes remaining.
Two days later, Campbell scored 16 points and was 8-for-8 at the free throw line as the Bruins defeated Saint Mary's, 72-56, in a second round NCAA Tournament game.
This is the second Athlete of the Week award for Campbell and the fourth of his career.
