Paltrinieri Leads UCLA with -3, 69 on Day One of PING/ASU Invitational
PHOENIX – The No. 16 UCLA women's golf team is in sixth place at 3-over 291 after one round at the PING/ASU Invitational hosted on Papago Golf Course.
Junior Emilie Paltrinieri, who is competing individually, posted the Bruins' best score of the day and her first sub-70 showing of the season with a 3-under 69, three strokes behind the individual leader.
Paltrinieri is tied for third place. As a team, UCLA is 11 strokes behind first-place No. 8 Arizona State.
Junior Emma Spitz leads all UCLA counting scores with a 1-under 71, tied for 12th. Freshman Alessia Nobilio and sophomore Ty Akabane are tied for 26th after shooting a pair of 1-over 73's. Caroline Canales rounds out the Bruins' counting scores with a 2-over 74, tied for 36th.
Zoe Antoinette Campos tees it up first for UCLA in round two at 8 a.m. PT. Spitz will tee off last at 8:44 a.m. PT.
