Hammoude Goes Yard as OSU Downs No. 25 Stanford, 4-1, Securing the Series
CORVALLIS, Ore. – Junior Frankie Hammoude hit her eleventh home run of the season as Oregon State softball defeated No. 25 Stanford, 4-1, in Saturday's Pac-12 showdown to secure the series at Kelly Field. After the win, the Beavers improve to 25-7 overall and 2-3 during conference play.
In her first circle appearance since March 7, senior Mariah Mazon struck out six and allowed just one hit in the complete game moving to 9-3 overall.
Madison Simon hit her sixth bomb of the season going opposite right field to put Oregon State ahead 1-0 after two frames.
Stanford broke through the no-hitter performance in the sixth, evening the game off a hit with two Beaver fielding errors.
Freshman Eliana Gottlieb delivered a one-out single through the right side in the bottom of the sixth that led to Hammoude's left center field bomb that nearly went into the Oregon State track.

Grace Messmer also doubled in the game for the second time this season that drove home the Jade Soto insurance run in the sixth frame.
As a team, the Beavers compiled seven hits that were scattered around six different players. Kiki Escobar got back in the box score with an infield single while Charity Sevaaetasi also added a single in the sixth.
UP NEXT
First pitch for the series finale of the OSU-Stanford series is scheduled for 12 p.m. PT tomorrow. The contest will be televised by the Pac-12 Networks.
