Mar 26, 2022

TUCSON, Ariz. – Washington's top pair of Natalie Robinson and Chloe Loreen continued to thrive with two more three-set wins, but the Huskies came up short in the team win column on the first day of action at the Pac-12 South Invitational. The Huskies dropped their opener to No. 17 Arizona, 4-1, then lost a tight one to Oregon, 3-2, at Arizona's Bear Down Beach.

Robinson and Loreen led the way once again at the top of the lineup. Against Arizona, they came back from a first set loss to outlast Parkhurst and Rennie, 15-21, 21-14, 16-14. In the match with the Ducks, the Huskies easily took set one, 21-12, but Nuneviller/Hope saved a match point to win the second set, 26-24. But the Huskies answered with 15-10 win in the third.

Loreen and Robinson are now 7-3 on the season. Robinson now has 34 career wins and Loreen is at 33, which puts Robinson in fifth in school history, and Loreen is tied for sixth.
