UCLA junior guard Charisma Osborne has been selected as a Region 5 Finalist for WBCA NCAA Division I Coaches All-America honors. The selection committee will choose the 10-member Coaches' All-America team from the list of 52 finalists.
Osborne, a two-time member of the Pac-12 All-Conference team, leads the Bruins and ranks fourth in the Pac-12 in scoring with a 16.0 points per game average. She also ranks second on the team with a 5.0 rebound average and ranks first on the team and sixth in the Pac-12 with 96 assists. Osborne is third in the conference with an 87.2% free throw percentage.
The Moreno Valley, Calif. native was on multiple Watch Lists for major awards this season, being selected to the Top 10 Finalist List for the Ann Meyers-Drysdale Award, the Midseason Team for the Jersey Mike's Naismith Trophy for Women's Player of the Year, and the Late Season Top 20 Watch List for the John R. Wooden Award.
Osborne has scored in double figures in 23 of her 26 games played this season and has led the team in scoring in a team-high-tying 13 games. She has eight 20-point games to her credit, including a 20-point, nine-rebound, five-assist effort in her last game at Wyoming; a 27-point effort at USC on Jan. 23; and a 26-point output against UConn on Dec. 11, during which she made a career-high seven three-pointers. She has two double-doubles to her credit this season, recording 18 points and 10 rebounds in UCLA's win at Arizona (Feb. 24) and putting up 19 points and 11 rebounds in the Bruin victory over St. John's at the Gulf Coast Showcase (Nov. 28). Osborne became the latest member of UCLA's 1,000-point club this season and now has 1,185 points in her career.
The 2022 WBCA NCAA Division I Coaches' All-America team will be announced Thursday, March 31.
