Cal Cup Secured

SAN DIEGO -- No. 2 Stanford started off its season on a high note, bringing home the Cal Cup with the top time in the preliminary heats and the grand final at the San Diego Crew Classic March 26-27.

Saturday saw the Cardinal with the best time of both qualifying heats. Stanford's finishing time of 6:55.680 topped 13 other collegiate programs including 2021 NCAA Championships competitor Gonzaga. The Cardinal continued its success on the water in the Grand Final Sunday, finishing with a time of 6:42.827, 13 seconds better than its prelims mark.

With a successful weekend under its belt, the Cardinal heads back to The Farm to prep for its upcoming regatta against California and UC Irvine, scheduled for April 2 at Redwood Shores.
