National Runner-Up Finish
COLUMBUS, Ohio - Stanford finished second overall in the U.S. Collegiate Nationals on Sunday. The Cardinal competed well in the three day event, with five podium finishes over the weekend.
Stanford's best finishes came in the solo and team events on Sunday afternoon. Lindi Schroeder claimed silver in the solo with a score of 83.50, just 1.83 points behind the event champion from Ohio State.
In the team competition, Stanford also finished second overall, just behind the hosts. The team's mark of 84.53 points fell only 0.7 points short of Ohio State's score.
The lineup for the team competition consisted of Grace Alwan, Nicole Goot, Hailee Heinrich, Ava Jih-Schiff, Jacklyn Luu, Audrey Nguyen, Emmanuella Tchakmakjian, Sabrina Walsh, and Lindi Schroeder.
Earlier in the day, Ava Jih-Schiff, Lindi Schroeder, and Nicole Goot combined for 83.43 points in the trio to take silver, just .33 points off the leaders. Stanford added a bronze in the event as well, with Jacklyn Luu, Emmanuella Tchakmakjian and Audrey Nguyen tallying 83.10 points.
In the duet, Stanford brought home third and fourth place overall. The pair of Emmanuella Tchakmakjian and Jacklyn Luu earned the podium finish for bronze, while Hailee Heinrich and Nicole Goot took fourth overall in the event with 82.86 points.
Stanford also scored four swimmers in the top-10 of the Technical A competition. Nicole Goot was the highest finisher in the event taking fifth overall with a score of 81.9937.
Jacklyn Luu was right behind her in sixth, and Tchakmakjian and Schroeder brought home ninth and tenth in the event. Ava Jih Schiff added a 19th place finish, Grace Alwan took 22nd, and Hailee Heinrich grabbed 24th.
Four other Stanford swimmers earned spots in the top-35 of the Technical A competition with Sabrina Walsh at 28th, Audrey Nguyen earning 30th, Natalie Greenfield taking 32nd, and Emily Brieant finishing 33rd.
