Osborne Selected UCLA Student-Athlete of the Week
LOS ANGELES – Junior Charisma Osborne of the women's basketball team has been selected the UCLA Student-Athlete of the Week, presented by Ready, for March 22 – March 28.
Charisma Osborne averaged 25.5 points and 9.5 rebounds across UCLA's two WNIT victories last week. She also dished out 4.5 assists per game in the wins and went a combined 17-19 from the free throw line.
Osborne opened her week with a 20-point performance in UCLA's triple-overtime victory at Wyoming in the third round of the WNIT, playing 50 minutes in the win. She grabbed nine rebounds and also tallied five assists in the performance.
Three days later, Osborne scored a season-high 31 points to lead the Bruins to a 74-66 victory over Oregon State in the quarterfinals of the WNIT. It was her third-career 30+ point performance. Osborne also grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds for her eighth-career double-double. She registered four assists and was also active on the defensive end, recording three steals and a pair of blocked shots.
This is the third Athlete of the Week award for Osborne this season and the fifth of her career. She is tied with Mac May (women's volleyball) and Jaime Jaquez Jr. (men's basketball) for the most Athlete of the Week Awards among active student-athletes at UCLA.
