Ducks Fall to Washington in Boise Finale

BOISE, Idaho – Despite a third win of the weekend at No. 2 pairs, the Oregon beach volleyball team lost its weekend finale to Washington at the Boise State Beach Classic. Saturday's match was the second of a scheduled three matches between the teams this season; Oregon won the first last weekend in Tucson.
 
On court two, Madelyn LaFollette and Daley McClellan secured the Ducks' lone point of the dual with a 21-15, 21-14 win over Scarlett Dahl and Kyra Peterson. The UO pair entered the weekend having lost six of their last seven but responded with three wins in Boise.
 
The win by LaFollette and McClellan gave Oregon (8-11) the 1-0 lead over Washington.
 
In the only three-set match of the day, the duo of Ashley Schroeder and Ella Tyus took the first set but the Huskies' Paloma Bowman and Audra Wilmes rallied for a 17-21, 21-15, 15-9 victory on court four to tie the dual at 1-all.
 
Washington (6-9) went on to clinch the team victory with straight-set wins at the No. 1 and 5 spots in the lineup.

The Ducks' run of conference opponents continues to next weekend's Pac-12 North Invitational, hosted by Stanford. Oregon will open the two-day competition against Arizona on Friday at 8 a.m., followed by a matchup with Arizona State on the Pac-12 Networks.
