Harr Jumps Into Top-Five

Apr 2, 2022

USAFA, Colo. – The University of Colorado track and field high jumper Kylee Harr had a breakout performance here Saturday afternoon to win the women's high jump at the Front Range Open.

Harr, who came into the meet in a three-way tie for 10th in CU history, cleared her previous personal best of 1.75 meters (5-8.75) on her final attempt to advance along with an Air Force athlete and teammate Avery McMullen. Harr then cleared 1.78 meters (5-10) on her third attempt to win the meet, but she didn't stop there as she cleared 1.80 meters (5-10.75) on her second attempt to move to fifth in CU history in the event.

With the clearance, Harr is now tied for ninth in the NCAA and tied for fourth in the West region.

The men also had a strong performance in the record books with Dominique Williams winning the men's hammer throw with a toss of 62.62 meters (205-5). He launched that personal best throw on his second attempt but cleared the 60-meter mark on his first four throws. He betters his mark that is third in CU history by four feet.

Both the men's and women's squads picked up three wins on the day. For the men, freshman Eli Heitmann had an impressive performance in the 400 hurdles, running 54.12 seconds to win the meet. He was joined by fellow freshman Aidan Christiansen who jumped 6.81 meters (22-4.25) to win the men's long jump with his teammate Jackson Meyer finished second just 10 centimeters behind.

On the women's side, Avery McMullen had a massive personal best in the 100 hurdles, winning the meet in 13.64 seconds, a three-tenths of a second improvement. Fellow combined events athlete Allie Routledge won the women's long jump with a jump of 5.39 meters (17-8.25).

The Buffaloes return home next week for their home season finale at the Colorado Invitational Friday and Saturday.
