BERKELEY – Senior All-American Emma Wright moved into sole possession of fifth place on Cal's all-time scoring list but the No. 4 Cal women's water polo team fell to No. 6 UC Irvine 14-13 in overtime on Saturday at Spieker Aquatics Complex.

Wright was one of three Golden Bears to register a hat trick against the Anteaters, as she and juniors Cecily Turner and Shea Salvino each scored three goals. Turner and sophomore Mallory Reynoso also added two assists apiece.

Wright now has 192 career goals at Cal. She now trails Kaliya Young for fourth place on the program's all time scoring list.

Cal (15-2) trailed 12-9 with 3:29 before scoring the final three goals of regulation to force overtime. Wright's last goal with 1:34 remaining in the fourth quarter knotted the score.

UC Irvine three-time All-American Tara Prentice scored seven times, including both of the Anteaters' goals in overtime. After she scored the only goal of the first extra session, Salvino tied it back up at 13-13 with 1:55 to go. Prentice answered again with 1:30 left for the game-winner.

Saturday marked the final home game of the season for the Bears, who honored Wright and fellow seniors Kitty Lynn Joustra, Elli Protopapas, Grace Raisin, Georgia Gilmore, Carson Broad and Cynthia Mulder before the game in a special ceremony.

Cal closes out the regular season on April 16 at No. 1 Stanford. The match will air on the Pac-12 Networks.
