Apr 5, 2022

Rocky Chapman, a talented junior from England with a growing resume, has signed a National Letter of Intent with the Trojans men's golf team, USC Head Coach J.T. Higgins announced on Tuesday (April 5).

Chapman, who qualified for the English Men's Strokeplay Championship, attends Reed's School in Surrey, England. He is an up-and-coming golf talent who showed great promise in the UK, performing at a high level on a variety of platforms.

"We are so excited about Rocky joining our squad," Higgins said. "He is a very talented, athletic golfer. His best assets are his clubhead speed and ball-striking ability. Most importantly, Rocky is dedicated to the game of golf, has an incredible work ethic and we believe he is going to develop into a strong collegiate golfer."

Chapman was 15th at the Welsh Open Youths Championship, played in the ISGA Home Internationals for England and has represented the Surrey County Elite Squads through all age groups. He is a golf scholar at Wentworth Club and competes for Reed's School Golf Team, which is recognized as one of the best high school teams in the country.

He is a two-time HG Trophy winner, including a 66 to win in 2021, and won the HMC Singles Championship. Alongside high school teammate Riccardo Fantinelli, they were the leading pair at the HMC Foursomes Championships with scores of 68 & 69. He was twice medallist in Wentworth Medals with scores of 63 and 67 alongside fifth at the ISGA National Finals and fourth at the AQ Invitational at Celtic Manor.
