Apr 6, 2022

TUCSON, Ariz. – Junior Sirena Linton has qualified as an individual competitor on the balance beam at the National Collegiate Women's Gymnastics Championships.

Linton is set to compete at the NCAA Championships in Fort Worth, Texas on Thursday, April 14 at 10 a.m. MST and her performance can be viewed on ESPN2.

"Sirena has had an incredible season and postseason," head coach John Court said. "It was one of her personal goals to end the season at the National Championship and Taylor Spears has done an excellent job with her on beam. She is a great gymnast and even better person. We are looking forward to her representing Arizona at the Championships."

Linton has been Arizona's anchor on beam for the entire 2022 season and has posted a 9.825 or higher in every meet on the event. She posted a career best 9.925 three times, including at the NCAA Norman Regional Semifinal last week to finish in first place in the second session.

Linton was one of four individuals to qualify for balance beam, joined by Iowa's Adeline Kenlin, Michigan State's Skyla Schulte, and Denver's Abbie Thompson. She will compete in the first session of the NCAA Championships and rotate with Minnesota.
