Cal Starts Three-Game Road Trip Friday At USC

CAL STARTS THREE-GAME ROAD TRIP FRIDAY AT USC
— Cal starts a three-game road trip Friday by visiting No. 13 USC before playing Sunday at No. T25 Arizona State and April 16 at UC Davis
— USC holds a 13-1 advantage in the all-time series and has won each of the last 13 meetings between the teams including a 19-9 victory in Berkeley earlier this season on March 18
— The lone Cal win in the series came the first time the squads played on Apr. 12, 2013, in Los Angeles
— Cal nearly ended USC's win streak in Los Angeles in 2021 in the second and final meeting of the season between the teams, scoring twice in the final minute of regulation to send the contest into overtime before falling, 12-11           
— Friday's forecast in Los Angeles calls for a gametime temperature of 92 degrees with sunny skies and winds out of the southwest at 10 miles per hour.

BIG WIN FOR THE BEARS
— There was electricity in the air last Friday at FTX Field at California Memorial Stadium for the Cal Lacrosse Youth Inclusion & Awareness Game and the Golden Bears sent a season-high crowd of 598 home happy with a hard-fought 14-12 Pac-12 victory over Oregon that was Cal's first of the 2022 season
— Maya Lawliss scored a career-high-tying four goals including the game-winner that snapped a 12-12 tie with 3:35 to go in the contest
— Liz Scott was one of eight different Cal players to register goals as she scored a team-high and game-high-tying five points on a pair of goals and a career-high three assists
— Kennedy Goss had a career-high 10 draw controls to help the Golden Bears win the draw control battle, 19-11

ZACCARO CLOSING IN ON CAL CAREER GAMES PLAYED MARK
— Nikki Zaccaro has played in 74 career games at Cal and is one shy of school record holder Anna Ellest (75, 2017-21)
— Zaccaro became Cal's all-time assists leader when the second of her three assists March 27 at Colorado moved her past former record holder Colleen O'Mara (83, 2001-04)
— Zaccaro is Cal's active leader in career games played (74), games started (63), goals (62), assists (87), points (149), shots (195) and shots on goal (125) 
  
SCOTT LEADING THE OFFENSE
— Liz Scott leads Cal in goals (30), points (35), shots (71) and shots on goal (50)
— Scott had a run of six consecutive multiple-goal games from March 13 - April 1 that included career highs of seven goals and nine points in a 21-18 home loss to Arizona State on March 20
  
LAWLISS COMING ON STRONG
— Maya Lawliss is second on Cal's team behind only Liz Scott in nearly every major offensive category including goals (24), points (29), shots (49) and shots on goal (43), while her five assists equal Scott and are tied for second on the club behind only Nikki Zaccaro's team-leading 14
— Lawliss has at least one goal in each of Cal's last nine games including multiple goals in each of the last five and a total of seven goals in the last two after getting none in the first four 
— Lawliss is second among Cal's regular attackers and midfielders in shots on goal percentage (.878) with 43 of her 49 shots on goal, as well as third in shot percentage (.490) with 24 of her 49 shots finding the back of the net  
    
STRONG SCHEDULE
— Eight of Cal's first 13 games have been against seven teams in the IWLCA/Inside Lacrosse Top 25 at some point in 2022 with all seven of those teams currently in the poll (No. 8 Denver, No. 13 USC, No. 16 Virginia, No. T22 Stanford, No. 24 Navy, No. T25 Arizona State, No. T25 Colorado)
— Cal has already played Colorado twice and among its four remaining regular-season games three are against teams currently in the poll in Arizona State, Stanford and USC
