SEATTLE -- For the second week in a row, a small group of Huskies is heading to Southern California. Last week it was sprinters and multi-eventers competing in Fresno, this time around a group of eleven UW throwers are bound for San Diego to pursue some PRs at the Triton Invitational, hosted by UC San Diego on Friday and Saturday.

Friday will feature just two events, the women's hammer at 9:30 a.m. and the women's discus at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, the men's hammer starts at 9:30 a.m. followed by the women's javelin at 10:30 a.m. with the final event scheduled to be men's shot put at 4 p.m.

Beatrice Asomaning is in the top flight of women's hammer on Friday. Asomaning and MaKayla Kelby are in the invitational discus on Friday as well, in a field loaded with professionals and Olympic athletes coming over from the Olympic Training Center at Chula Vista.

Jayden White and Connor Jost will get their second hammer throw competitions of the season on Saturday morning. Kathleen Horn, Natalie Holmer, and Tanya Simora will all go in the women's javelin. In the men's javelin, recent addition Roan Allen and Pac-12 podium finisher Zach Annanie will both throw for the second time this outdoor season.

Nolan Such will spin the discus after opening with a 165-0 PR. Kelby will be in action again in the invitational women's shot put, and Sam Van Peursem will put the shot in the men's invite section.
