Prior to last weekend's break, ASU had just picked up a series sweep over Arizona down in Tucson, bringing the Sun Devils' win streak to 14. ASU run-ruled Arizona in two of its three games against the Wildcats as the Sun Devils outscored the team down south 28-2 throughout the weekend. Both run-rules were the first for ASU in Tucson and it was the first series win down south for head coach Trisha Ford.

The pitchers came in hot once again for the Sun Devils defense. In the series finale on March 27, senior pitcher Marissa Schuld pitched a perfect game, the first for ASU since Feb. 9, 2017 against UTEP and the eighth no hitter in program history. Fellow Arizona native Lindsay Lopez pitched the entire Saturday game against Arizona where she picked up her fourth win of the season allowing no walks and dropping her season ERA to 1.38. Then in the series opener, freshman Mac Morgan picked up her team high 12th win of the season.

The Sun Devils accumulated eight home runs in two games in the Arizona series as the bats were hot once again. Yannira Acuña, Jazmyn Rollin and Cydney Sanders all had above a 1.250 slugging percentage, while Acuña hit .750 over the span of that weekend. In the 75 at-bats for the trio, there have been 33 hits, eight home runs and eight doubles. In the last game played for the Sun Devils, they had their fifth game of the season hitting four or more home runs.

Currently, Arizona State sits fifth in the nation with 1.87 home runs per game and fourth in batting average, .344%.
